Not yet too old to turn down an invitation for a cuddle. I love that! #notmytinyboyanymore #lovethatboy
I’m starting to really love this little building! Phil’s been doing more prep work for lime plastering the upper half of the outside walls. He’ll cover that part with metal lath then begin plastering - as long as the weather holds out. Send good vibes for non-freezing weather just long enough for him to get the plastering done.

I’m always taken aback to come into the kitchen of a morning and find my oldest son cooking something for breakfast (usually cereal suffices). Today I was doubly impresses that Burke not only made himself French toast but also cut his own carrot sticks for his lunch. #notmytinyboyanymore #lovethatboy

Two days ago we discovered that Burke is only a millimeter away from matching my height. By now, he’s probably surpassed me. It’s all downhill from here. Sigh. #notmytinyboyanymore explodingteenager
A second door and all the trim - all in one day! Nice work, Phillip!
We aren’t big fans of the cold, but it’s always fun to start the first fire of the season! #cozy

Well, the Shoo-fly pie was a bit of a…well…flop. Not from a baking or recipe standpoint but from a taste standpoint. Turns out our family doesn’t care for “molasses pie.” Oh well, you win some, you lose some. #pieofthemonthclub

You take some bacon and you put it in a pancake. Bacon Pancaaaaakes! #breakfastfordinner #soyum
October’s #pieofthemonthclub (belated): Shoo fly pie - as requested by Phil. We’ve never had it, so we’re excited to try it. #pie #welovepie
My blueberry goofball.
The first door is in! Phil says it’s a-door-able. Har har. #houseprojects
The #SundayMorningChickens are getting old, folks. They’re looking pretty scruffy and they’re slowing down their egg production. Soon we will begin new batches of laying hens to be ready for egg production in the Spring. #oldladies #timeforanursinghome

Check it out! The first window in! #houseprojects #steadyprogress
Reed matting on the ceiling - to be covered with a clay plaster. #strawbale #naturalclayplaster
It’s been a busy few weeks for us so my apologies for not posting. Here’s the latest: Phil’s been steadily making progress on the workshop shed. He’s gotten all the walls - inside and out - covered with mud plaster; he’s put all the plywood back on the lower half of the outside walls ( in preparation for siding); and as you can see here, he’s gotten the roofing felt on the exterior walls as well. Next up: reed matting on the ceiling inside and installing windows and doors. Go, Phillip, go! #houseprojects #steadyprogress
